This document explains the Privacy Policy of the Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections (Department). Please be aware that any inquiry or correspondence you send to the Department may become a public record and may be subject to disclosure to anyone who asks for it under the Idaho Public Records Law.

The Department's web site contains web links to other state and local agencies. Such links are provided as a convenience and the Department does not make any representations or warranties concerning the privacy protections or security of the web sites of such agencies.

Information Collection

The information you provide may be used by the Department to respond to your inquiry. Your complaint or inquiry and our response are public documents and may be inspected by members of the public and media if a request is made under Idaho’s Public Records Law. We do not collect any personally identifiable information, except as needed to respond to your requests.


We do not select and direct mailings to you unsolicited, nor require that you register for general access to our web site. Except for what you submit to us, we do not collect any personally identifiable information.


Any changes in this Privacy Policy will be posted at least 30 days prior to the change taking effect. Any information collected under this current policy will remain bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy. All new information collected, if any, would be subject to the revised privacy policy.
