The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare offers many resources and services to aid you in providing mental health care to your children with special mental health needs. Children's Mental Health offers a continuum of voluntary services that include:

  • Case Management Services
    • Linkage to Outpatient Therapies & Services –Medication Management
    • Respite Care
    • Assessments
  • Residential Treatment
  • Acute Psychiatric Hospitalizations
  • Community Outreach
  • Family Support Services
    • Parenting with Love and Limits Wrap-around Services- A planning process that brings together a team of professionals and citizens working together to support children and families affected by a Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED).

Another great resource for families is the Idaho Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health. This is a non-profit organization with representatives in each area of the state. Need help knowing how to get services from Health and Welfare or other community assistance?
